Interior Design Major College University
Catholic art college?

Does anyone know of a good, Catholic college/university with majors in design-related fields? More specific, graphic design, computer animation, or interior design. If there are no such Catholic schools, is there at least a Christian school? Most of the Catholic schools I find concentrate more on the liberal arts, not design/visual/performing arts. Thanks in advance!
sohysterical,

not at all. because many Catholic colleges are private, their education is far better then public colleges. and, cretin hardcore Catholic colleges like Franciscan University do not have as big of problems with drugs, drinking, and sex. i dont want to have to deal with that crap :)

loyola in new orleans has visual and performing arts programs. flagler college in florida (isn’t catholic or christian but has a lot of christian students) has a good graphic design program. i highly recommend going to the best art school you can get into and just go to church and do church-related activities on your own time. you can be just as involved in the church without going to a catholic school.

Does anyone know how much one would get paid in this internship? I am interested in the interior design program. Does anyone know a round about amount?

findcollege.hotusa.org – try this site. It has lots of job openings and internships for college students (including architectural).

Civil Engeeniering without foundation course?

Hello Guys. I have been studying 2 years bachelor degree of UWIC at London School of Commerce since 2009 april ( going to finish in december 2011) and recently started my course in interior design at JJAADA Academy for Diploma duration 1 year.

I realised that I want to study Civil Engineering with Architecture at City University, but the problem is that I didnt have any IELTs test and Foundation course for Engineering, because I started that college by passing their english test and it might be quite different from IELTS.

Now, my question is that. IS THERE ANY CHANCES THAT I CAN STUDY CIVIL ENGINEERING WITH ARCHITECTURE WITHOUT ANY IELTS AND FOUNDATION COURSE?

In the interior design course there are scale and technical drawings, Autocad and Photoshop, room, furniture, bathroom and kitchen design. and I studied Foundation course for Business studies and Computing where the maths is involved. and I’m an INTERNATIONAL STUDENT.

That would be analogous to building a nice home on a foundation of sand. Or similar to taking a Calculus course without the basic understanding of algebra or trigonometry.
Without the solid footing, it would be difficult to be successful. At a very minmum, you should take the basic Physics and Calculus classes that are the basis for the core engineering classes. The core Engineering classes are basically advanced physics and advanced math. You really need the basic core classes such as Physics and Calculus to build on.

what documents are needed for interior design business?

Hi
I am going to school to be an interior designer and I am writing a paper on it currently. I have been searching and searching online for the legal documents necessary to run your own interior design business. If there are any designers out there that could help me out it would be much appreciated!
Don’t you need like a document incase they try to sue you or back out of the deal? What are the proper names for these?

In most communitys, offering your services as an Interior Designer, does require a license to operate. Your schooling, should cover the in’s and out’s of setting up such a business. I’d suggest, contacting your local city/county government, and find out what restrictions wlll be placed on you, things like liability insurance, is a big must. You will find that “customers” are extremely “anal” when it comes to liking what you worked so hard to provide for them. You will find that “customers” ususally have no idea what they want. You will find, that the customer who wants you to “decide” what will look best in their home, will be the most difficult to tend to. The “customer” who knows exactly what they want, but needs direction on how to put it all together, will be the most easiest of all to cater to. Treasure those who know what they want! The need for license, is to validate your knowledge, in providing your services. There is a couple reasons for this. First, making a law to ensure all Interior Decorators are licensed, helps to keep “weekend warriors” (Martha Stewart magazine readers), from representing themselves as I/D’s. This helps keep the market tight, with only true experienced I/D’s being licensed to do business in your area. The second reason, is too many homeowners, have been ripped off by “unlicensed” want-be’s who don’t complete projects, or who provide lousy service. So, after all this, the main suggestion I have for you, is instead of rushing out and starting your own agency, work for a while with an established agency in your area…. you will still have to get your license, and all the problems I’ve noted above, will still be there for you to deal with, but by working for an established agency, you have an established back up to help you do your job, and to cover your backside when problems develope, and the will, (remember the “anal customer”)..”they are so many….and you are so few…!
