Interior Design Great Room
A couple questions on Interior Design?
1. What are three steps that can be taken when there is not enough space in a room?
2. How can the use of space affect a person’s feelings?
3. How can a person make a room feel smaller?
4. How can the height of a room appear greater?
Thank you for your answers! (:
Try to answer as many as you can, please.
1. Three steps you can take are:
-Remove clutter; this will just make the room seem smaller
-Try to avoid using too many furniture items in the same room or putting to many decorative items on the same table or in the same place
-Remove items you don’t need by hiding them away in attractive baskets, and showcase the baskets as if they were a decoration
2. This all depends on the person. Usually, if a room seems to small and cluttered then a person will most likely get the feeling of congestion. This isn’t exactly a good feeling. although, if a room is too big, they may feel overwhelmed. You want to have the proportions of the room go with the size of the room.
3. A person can make a room feel smaller by using larger furniture items or crowding a room with many decorations. Don’t leave a lot of open space because this creates the image that you have space to spare, meaning that your room is big enough for that.
4. There are many different tactics that you can use to make the height of a room appear greater. By having many horizontal lines across the room, whether it be on your wall or on your furniture, you create the feeling that your room is taller. You can use mirrors to create the illusion that you have more space in your room. Hang your curtains higher above the window, perhaps even to the ceiling. This creates the sense that the room is taller.
I hope this helped! [:
