Architecture/ Interior Design Question?

First off, what degree should i be shooting for if I wnat to be an interior designer?
Im just so confused; Im in the proccess of finding out what college i want to go to,
and really, if i even want to be a freaking Interior Designer.
Im a Sophmore, and i already have a portfolio of floorplans for homes.
I love designing houses, i just dont know if i get the degree and all this other crap, will i even have the chance of getting into exactly what i want to?

And also, what classes to take in College… :/

You will want a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design degree. This is a 4 year program.

The college you would attend can be:

1) an Interior Design only college like the Design Institute of San Diego (www.disd.edu) or New York School of Interior Design (www.nysid.edu)

2) an Art School that has an Interior Design program like Rhode Island School of Design (www.risd.edu)

3) or a State University with a good Interior Design program.

In any case, make sure the program is accredited by CIDA. Here is a list of CIDA accredited college programs – http://www.accredit-id.org/accredited-programs
