Interior Design Degree Texas
Disney Imagineering?? how to become one??

i have a real interest in disney imagineering … im a senior in high school and will be leaving to attend my first semester at texas tech in the fall….im trying to figure out what area of study/major will help me the most with my dream of becoming an imagineer … i was thinking of trying to become an architechtural / civil engineer but i really have a stronger interest in design (floral, interior, costume, etc.) and history (what i am currently enrolled to study in the fall) but i want to earn a degree that will help me get closer to my dream of imagineering … if anyone knows any information about what majors are helpful for becoming an imagineer or any information on working for the disney company advice and tips would be greatly greatly appreciated!!!!

thanks so much!!!

I need serious and professional advice?

This is about my future.
It was all planned out…i was going to go to Ryerson University and study fashion…eventually open my fashion boutique.
BUT.
I also have a really big interest in interior design…and i can’t choose between the two of them. I would most likely like to realize my fashion designer dream but i know it will be very hard to keep up with the lastest fashion, and i’m not sure if i can, i also heard that it was very stressful and you didn’t have time for friends or either husband. I know i’m only 14, but i like it to be figured out.I guess i consider myself very mature…? I love fashion and interior design, i’m willing to do anything for it, but i don’t want to push away my personal life…left with no friends because i’m always at work. So my question is, if you new any of these two jobs, and are they easy or what’s it like? Just..anything you know about the market, things like that. Boy, would it help me a lot.

When you complete college, and you are in your middle 20s, your life and your friends will be quite different. Your ideas of what is fun and how you like to spend your time will be very changed. We all have 24 hours in each day. You can arrange your time to match your priorities for work, family, and life. The best advice my mother gave to me in high school was to prepare to live life as if you must earn and provide all that you will have. Husbands, children, friends come and go sometimes. Life will be full of unexpected events.
Your two career interests are quite related and it is possible that you could do both. My advice is to find out more about the design fields. Take classes in both Fashion and in Interiors during high school. If possible, arrange Job Shadowing and you can find out what is really involved. If you still like it, then choose a college that offers the major. You do need a bachelor’s degree to get going. Your guidance counselor or Work and Family Studies teacher can help with classes and job shadowing.

I want to decorate my new condo like the Hyatt Place rooms I stayed in recently. Any help?

Here is the link to the picture of the rooms.

http://www.hyatt.com/hyatt/place/virtual.jsp

I would like to do this on my own so I can save money. I contacted the interior decorator who designed it but he wont contact me back (Im sure hes busy and I dont mean anything to him)

You can see pretty good what it has, any ideas or plan to get this done? I have no idea where I can get tiled carpet like that as well as cheaper non-branded materials and such. Plus I dont know the colors of anything juts by looking.

Any help? Thanks for reading

The colors are basic browns and tans. Take this picture to a furniture store, look for sofas similar to the clean lined one in the photo and choose the fabric that is closest. The ottoman/cocktail table appears to be leather. They are available at furniture stores as well with your choice of leathers. The end tables are pretty simple open cubes that many places carry. Carpet tiles are usually available through Home Depot and Lowes and can be ordered by color and textures. You aren’t going to get the exact pieces in the room, but the idea is to get as close as you can to the look. The same with the bedroom area. Brown is popular so finding a solid duvet cover should be easy.
