Interior Design Portfolios How can i start a portfolio to submit for a scholarship towards an interior design school?
I am a senior in high school and plan to study interior design. I realized that most scholarships want to see a portfolio of your work, and i never thought about it. I have no idea on how to start or what should be included in it. any help is appreciated:]♥
You should not put everything you have ever done in your portfolio, if your portfolio is too big then schools won’t have enough time to look at it all anyway. They just can’t spare enough time to look at every single page. You should choose a few projects that you are especially proud of, show the whole process from start to finish so that they can get an idea of how you work. Digital photos can be used alongside floor plans and sketches. Lay it out so that it’s easy to understand and looks nice.
I wouldn’t include any more than twenty pages in your portfolio. You should also include examples of your CAD work, drawings and anything else that separates you from the other students. You want your portfolio to sell yourself.

Modern Interior Design Walls Re-designing my room…?
Alright, so I am hoping to re decorate my room. I only have 100-200 dollars to spend.
Things I have:
-White bed frame (Can we painted)
-White dresser and Night Stand
-Book Shelf in white (Kind of Modern)
-Popazon Chair. (With very versitile print)
I Need
-Comforter
-Paint
-Curtains
-Some accesories
I would like to have a warmer feel to my room. Right now all the walls are white except one with it blue and green stripes. I want to loose the stripes and bring in alittle maturity.
I love deep colors. Anything warm. Maybe even a little Indian or Bohemian flair.
So any aspiring Interior Designers or people with good information, Please Help.
I HAVE A BUDGET and I need 3 major items.
If you have website, pictures or an entire plan, anything is helpful.

Because I am unsure of your age range or gender, I am going to really try to keep this to the bohemian flair you described, and not get too gender specific. with the white furniture you can definitely get some warmth in the room, without making it look too dark and grungy! Here are some examples of comforters. Kinglinen is great for deals, or you can check out bed bath and beyond online and then take your receipt into a store with a 20%coupon to receive 20% back.
If you go with one of these, I would probably spray paint the headboard dark brown and keep the other furniture light. From this, I would do an accent wall with one color, then bring that color throughout the room in accessories. Curtains are a must, because lots of fabric will warm up the room. Dont focus on the perfect rod, but find a cheap one that you can spray paint. Be sure to stick to your neutral white, dark wood, and tan (usually the flooring) and pair it with 2-3 colors. teal, magenta, and gold work very nicely. And just because you have the dark brown on the wood doesnt mean you cant apply it in other places as an accent color.

Interior Designer Jobs In Michigan information on the state of Michigan?
My husband and I are considering moving to Michigan … love the 4 seasons, one of the main reasons I wanted to go there … I wanted information on the safest places to raise a family, beautiful places .. I love the mountains, waterfalls, etc. so those areas would be awesome! we are concerned about the labor market no … My husband is in IT / computer field and I am an interior designer and environmental engineering and it would be ideal to live in areas that suit our professional fields …… We have a young child to the city must be racist family oriented and NO. Any information would be helpful. Thank you very much.
I live in Michigan … is a beautiful place to live. I'm sure you've heard this, but Michigan has the worst job market and the highest unemployment rate in the country! I would urge you and your husband to find jobs before coming to be sure. A good place to live …. Brighton / Howell area are very nice. Ann Arbor is a very liberal and beautiful. It is in southeastern Michigan. I live in Fenton, Michigan. Fenton, Holly, Linden, and Clarkston are all great places to live and raise a family. Both could find a job in Auburn Hills area as well. Kalamazoo is great too – I've heard something about whether to raise their children in the city is for young people to graduation to get a free college education. Look at that! Good luck! Modern Interior Design Of Bedroom Best interior design or lighting websites.?
I’m changing the lighting in our bedroom to better match decor and wanted to get some ideas, but have been having a hard time finding good design sites for more traditional bedrooms. I like the idea of finding creative lighting schemes, but they all seem to be for modern/minimalistic decor, which is not my style. can anyone recommend a good design site with lots of images that is geared to more traditional styles?
Three light sources per area:
Natural light- window.
Reading lights- over the headboard or side lamps.
Ambiant: ceiling mounted fixtures or pot lights on dimmers.
Transitional is what you are looking for in lighting.
I am an interior designer- so, I have experience.
Go to a Chapters and look at interior design books- best option.
Lighting suppliers do not have vast arrays of lighting pics.
