Interior Designing Tips Bedroom
Are you experienced in interior design??

Im seventeen and I want to work in interior design as a part time job. I love to decorate, and when i walk into an empty room i see endless possibilities. I do believe I have the talent to design.. Im starting on my first project next week, a teenage bedroom. But im having a bit of trouble on how to start off. How do I get organized and how do I plan it out? I dont want to get stuck along the way or do things in a rush because i left something out and I have to go back and do it at the last minute; I want to have it all planned out. What tips can you give me about interior design in general, and also on how to plan my design out?
THANK YOu so MuCH!!

If you are doing a presentation, or an actual room? Somehow, I’m thinking you are doing a presentation. You’ll need to draw your room to scale on graph paper, including windows, doors, closets, height of ceiling, etc. You should include elecrical outlets, AC/heat vents, etc.

You’ll need to make sure your furniture fits into the space. You should draw it to scale on the graph paper. Provide pictures of the furnishings. Have samples of fabrics, paint color, wallpaper, floor coverings, etc. Most designers have everything attached to a big board, and they have it labeled. Don’t forget architectural details such as crown moldings, baseboards, etc. If there is a different paint color or finish, you’ll need to indicate this.

Mark on the graph paper where accessories will be placed and provide photos or pictures.

I’ve seen this type of presentation rendered on HGTV. I’m sure you could find some good tips on their website.
Good luck with your project.
