I’m an American interior designer. What are the best web sites to look for architecture/interior design jobs for New Zealand and Australia? Want to move there but don’t know where to start looking for design jobs.

Ooh, design jobs are really hard to come by….
It depends how many years of post-graduate experience you have and what area of interior design you specialise in.
eg. I have been working as an interior designer for 4 years (it has been 4 years since I finished at university) and I specialise mostly in office and restaurants.

Most jobs require you to have at least 3-5 years post-graduate experience….

As for looking for jobs. You can try some Australian job seeker websites such as:

www.seek.com.au
or
www.careerone.com.au

or you can look directly on the website of companies. Bigger companies will have an ‘employment’ or ‘career’ section….they often list their vacant jobs on their website.

The big architectural companies in Australia are:

Hassell
Woods Bagot
Woodhead
Swanbury Penglase
Troppo Design

Just to name a few.
Google search them and have a look at their websites.

You could also try www.yellowpages.com.au and search for companies that are located in a town that you want to move to – then you could just approach the companies directly – see if they have any vacancies…
