Interior Design Business Plan Draft
Would someone please tell me plainly about 2 Engineering categories?

I need to KNOW what category of Engineering I’m doing here!!! I keep getting conflicting advice and it’s keeping me from focusing on what course of action to start my own Home Designing Business!!! I have no formal training…just plain talent. Please help!

I love drawing and designing floor plans and houses.
This is what I do: I design a floor plan and fill it in according to my creativity. Then I imagine and create a 2D drawing of what the house would look like on the outside. Sometimes I’ll pick a room and draw the interior design and furnishings of that room.

I’ve been told it was Drafting. Then I was mainly told it was Mechanical Engineering for a long time. Then I was told it was Civil Engineering! I was told I didn’t need to spend 5-6 years getting a Degree and Certification (for Architecture). Then I was told that I should. I’m confused.
By the way, I don’t want to build bridges roads and do surveying!

You have to ask yourself what you enjoy doing most. From the info on your questrion, three propfessions are involved. Those who design floor plans are architects. (the draftsman simply draws, based on the design of the architect). the person who builds houses are civil engineers or building contractors. you definitely need some kind of license to do this kind of job. The person who picks a room, and designs the interiors and furnishings of the room is an interior designner. I don’t know if this needs a licenses in the US ( in our country Philippines, you can do it without a license, although the big accounts go to licensed outfits, the designers are graduates of a fine arts or architecture course).

I hope this helps to clear the confusion.

Medical Office Interior Design Ideas
Decorator, how to break in, can you make a living? Painting, consultant, nurse, writer?

Help! I’m a bit burned out in the nursing field. In the medical field for 26 yrs.
Have always loved to paint, have sold a few. Very basic, abstract, funky stuff.
Love interior decorating, painting assoc. with that, furniture design, & the arts.

Any ideas if I can make a living at these, even a meager one?

And HOW to get started or break into this & the art world?

Also done informal consulting on love lives/dating with friends & friends of friends with success, & other ‘advice’ situations which I love. How the heck can you turn that into a living?

I enjoy writing, problem solving, am very resourceful! Be a personal assistant to someone interesting?
Would love to have a flea market/local art place. Takes all your time, I hear very low income.

My only child I raised on my own, is in college .Also, I recently injured my back,so finding a nsg. job even p-time just to pay the bills is a challenge. Most all are quite physical and Dr’s offices won’t hire RN’s.Too cheap!

try to get into faux painting …the perfect combination of art and painting, you may have to take a few classes in some faux techniques ,but it will be worth it as the market is huge…painting/faux painting contractor.

Interior Design Modern Living Rooms
Help me with my colour scheme for my living room/lounge?

Basically, the room is 25ftx12.5ft, and I dont want it to seem like a corridor. I’m thinking of getting a Walnut hardwood flooring, but would it make the room look small?

Also, any ideas on how to do the walls? I was thinking the two long walls and the end wall with the big window could be white, and the other short one with a patterned wallpaper? My sofas are black and I’m either going to buy a walnut or black gloss sideboard. I want the room to look modern/contemporary. However I don’t have much knowledge on colour schemes, interior designing etc so any tips?

Thanks in advance!

Treat is as 2 12×12 rooms. Designate a tv area with an area rug. Couch chair perhaps coffee table. Another area rug for either a nice reading area, couple of chairs and sideboard or wll unit. Do not put all of the furniture flush against the wall, angle chairs out
Colours should be to your taste
