Free Interior Design Programs
Does anyone know of a free downloadable interior design, drafting or rendering program?

I need an interior design, drafting or rendering computer program through which I can create an accurate three dimensional rendering of my kitchen and several other rooms in my house. It does not have to have color, although that would be helpful. I also need to be able to print these out. I really do not want to go out and buy a program, however, if anyone knows of a cheap one, let me know about it.

In their May 2007 issue, “Smart Computing” magazine recommended that readers check out the “Better Homes & Gardens” magazine website for the kind of design tools you are seeking. I checked it out and here is the link:

It looks like there are design tools for all kinds of projects including room layout, furniture arrangement, color selection, window treatments, etc.. There are also tools that allow you to design your garden, plan your deck, and design other outdoor spaces. To be honest, I haven’t had time to thoroughly explore all of the tools, but they look interesting. Best of all, they are free.
