How to know which online interior design courses that are reliable?

I am looking for a reliable school to enrol in a home interior design course. To study online a few hours a day and to finish the course in 1 to 1 1/2 years.

i would go to the local home improvement such as the home depot or Lowe’s and ask them because most have been where you want to go.

GCSE option, Art ot Graphics?

I’m in year 9 and currently have to chooose my options.I have chose, History, Geography, French, Double Science and Art. I also want to take Graphics Products but i couldn’t fit it in, i considered replacing Art with Graphics but i don’t know. I’m not sure what career i want to persue yet but i thought about designing. Seeing as Graphics is more designing i suppose i should choose that but i really love art.
i’m really not sure what to take in case i take the wrong one and can’t do the job i want.

if i took art, would i be able to take a graphics course later on or vice versa?
and if i want to do designing like interior or fashion which one would be more suited?

the graphics course at my school looks really appropriate as they do designing a house and perfume products.
but the art looks good too and i know that the students create amazing work. my art teacher also said i would be capable of persuing it to gcse level.

I am currently in Year 10 and i chose graphic proucts, I could have done both – art and graphics- becasue at my school we have to do a DT at GCSE but i decided on just doing graphics. I decided on graphics because art has A LOT of coursework and i though Graphics would be more manageable. Sometimes I do feel like i should’ve done art and I miss it, however I do like doing graphics and there is quite a lot of art involved mainly drawings.
At my school you can only do art at A-level if you took it at GCSE, so if you want to do art at A-level i would pick it for GCSE. With graphics I THINK you can still do it a A-level without a GCSE. I dont think that choosing one over the other will make too much of a difference regarding your career as you can probably take a interior/fashion designing type course with either an art or graphics GCSE so dont worry too much!
If I were you I would pick the one you most enjoy and will be most manageable for you…good luck!

Where can I find affordable interior designing/decorating help?

We moved into a new house and would like to get some help in the area of interior designing/decorating. No remodeling/construction needed, just need help with deciding how to use the rooms and spaces, what type/size furniture to place (this is important), may be some paint work on select walls if needed …etc. We can’t spend much, and would only like a couple of hours of consulting to help with this (we’ll do the buying and placing things ourselves for the most part). I didn’t find much on craigslist and don’t know where to look … Thanks

Maybe your realtor who sold you the house knows an interior designer you could hire for a consultation session. There’s always the good ole Yellow Pages!
I’d suggest you go out and buy some home magazines (House Beautiful, Metropolitan Home, etc.) and find pictures of rooms you like. Then when the designer shows up you’ll have somewhere to start with your likes and dislikes.
A friend of mine loves Pottery Barn catalogs and her home looks like something right out of the catalog…she uses it for inspiration. Maybe check out websites like Pottery Barn and Ballard Designs, too, before the designer arrives. The more immediate info you can give the designer on your tastes, the faster (and less expensive!) the design consultation will be – plus she can take you in a direction that fits YOUR style, rather than playing a guessing game or designing for her own tastes.
An excellent interior design website where you might find inspiration is www.home-decorating-room-by-room.com.
