Interior Designing Schools In California
how do i become an architect or interior designer?

im a senior in highschool and im really interested in pursuing those two careers.(architect and interior designing.) possibly major in architecture and minor in interior designing ;] wat are the possible steps to pursue my dream career? any tips on how to prepare myself for these fields etc? good schools to attend? any other tips? im going to el co (community college) then transfer to a univeristy. California schools only please.
thank you!

You should pick one or the other. If you’re not sure, you can always take a couple of courses from a community college for interior design. Since you’re in California, neither profession requires a college degree. But in the rest of the United States, you need a college degree in architecture in order to qualify for the Architectural Registration Exam. While anyone with or without a high school diploma can practice as a interior designer provided they have a business license.
If you plan on going in the field of architecture, there is no advantage to go to a community college since you have more options with financial aid in a university system. There really isn’t a good school per se, rather it is what you put into your education will determine how successful you may be. Any accredited programs from NAAB will be considered “good”.
At the end of the day, you will not have time to pursue a minor in interior design if you decide to pursue architecture.
