When starting a small business that will have to charge sales tax, what forms are needed?
This will be for interior design work out of a home. Am interested in learning if a new tax number will be needed in order to purchase products from suppliers and charge sales tax as they are re-sold.
Go to the department of revenue in your city or online and fill out the forms for the Sales Tax License. You get this when you register the name of the company. Done same place same time. You may also need a city license like I have to have in my city to purchase and resell. They will tell you at the Department of Revenue if you do.
