Looking for an Interior Design Thesis Statement?

I’m taking a Thesis Design class and I’m having difficulty coming up with a thesis statement. I want to talk about how the use of eco-friendly materials or green design is healthy for the client as well as the environment.

Hi! This is quite a twist (no pun intended), but I am wondering if you are familiar with Greensburg, Kansas, where on the night of May 4, 2007, 95% of homes and businesses were destroyed by a massive EF5 tornado that was nearly 2 miles wide.

To its credit, the city has decided to rebuild—all city building projects will be built to LEED Platinum level standards. This makes it the first city in the United States to do this and it shows the world “how green we are.” For more information on LEED certification, go to www.usgbc.org. This is a great accomplishment for Greensburg, our future and generations to come!

Certainly the decision to use eco-friendly materials with green design is as healthy as it can get for the people of Greesburg—before the decision to take on this challenge of green building, the city was destined never to rebuild. Now, they have hope. Now they have a future. Perhaps the story of this little town on the Kansas prairie can help you with your thesis.
