Interior Design Autocad Course If you were looking for an interior designer, what qualifications would you look for?
I live in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada. The only real interior design school nearby is the Centre for Arts and Technology. Unfortunately, they’re very expensive! I would be willing to part with the money if I knew that this school would give me an edge over other designers. If I took this course I would be familiar with sustainable design (energy and environmental design), Photoshop, AutoCad, and be a member of NCIDQ (National Council for Interior Design Qualification). There are a couple of other programs like Photoshop they teach you, but I can’t remember them all.
Anyways, what do you think??
Consider what an interior designer IS … An interior designer can do or authorize anything inside a building that an ARCHITECT can do, with the exception of moving a load-bearing wall. A designer can erect/knock down walls, move stairs, move or add plumbing, move or add electrical, install a fireplace … pretty much anything.
So … for all intents and purposes, an interior designer is very nearly an architect. An architecture degree is going to cost a LOT more than a design degree.
So if I were to hire an interior designer, I would want someone with a thorough understanding of the structural aspects of design as well as an aesthetic sense I liked.
