Interior Design Walls Modern
what are some words you would use to describle a brick wall in a room design?

im doing a project for an interior design class and i need to identify 3 major textures in the room and say a few words about them.

http://freshome.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/04/living-modern-room.jpg

that is the room i chose,i am talking about the supple leather couch, the glossy cofee table with the rounded edges and the brick wall behind the couch but what adjectives can i use to describe it?

Ying and yang (smooth and rough). I can think of many words to describe this room, starting with the brick wall. It has an organic feel, rough, original brick work in a rustic state, that contrasts with the smoothness of the leather couch creating a ying and yang feeling. The room has a contemporary feel to it with a nod to the past, and certainly creates that loft feel with the furnishings, while bringing the room into the present day, it still has a nostalgic feel with the brick wall framed out in drywall and painted a contemporary white. The white coffee table with is clean lines and smooth feel enhances the loft feeling of the room. The stacks of books create a lived in feeling without bringing clutter and gives the room a wonderful lived in feeling while remaining in its contemporary clean loft like state. Ouch! Hope this helps you on your way! Good luck!

Redoing room! Designing Tips/Ideas?

I’m looking at more of the artisticy side, like these, http://dornob.com/artist-designed-interiors-art-hotel-bedroom-designs/
But more in my budget. And little less complicated, and simpler. My room isn’t that big, and im going for hardwood flooring. Ideas and/or pics?

P.S, I already looked at Google images, my search terms were, “Artistic Room Designs.”

Since you are very artistic and are interested in artistic stuff, maybe you can paint a wall with chalk board or dry erase paint. There are many college students and adults who have this, it is a way to showcase art on your walls, and you can change it as often as you want! Any ideas you have, you can draw, write on your walls, and remove them whenever you want. Look at http://www.rustoleum.com/CBGProduct.asp?pid=168 , or http://www.rustoleum.com/cbgproduct.asp?pid=128 . You can add artistic accents, like lighting and lamps. http://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kinzig-design-table-lamps
For your window, you could go with something like a roller shade, and if you wanted to take it up a notch, you could even make it motorized, so you can use a remote to raise and lower it. This can make your window treatment very modern. You can choose fabrics with designs on them, or a simple color. http://blindsetcusa.com . Hope this helps inspire your artistic side!
