American Interior Design History
where could i get into?please answer!!!?

I know that i asked this already but i didnt get a good answer..

i’m from arizona
i have a 2.8 GPA (i’m a junior in high school but im doing alot better now)
top 50% of my h.s class
drama club
community service as a special education aid
journalism club
choir
AP biology(double credit)
Honors US history(double credit)
American Sign Language(double credit)

I want to move to a nice place, possibly in the east coast,Im not planning to take the ACTs or SATs so if theres an open policy school that would be great.
Im interested in either one of these:
-nursing
-psychology
-interior design
-business management

I was looking at American Intercontinental University but some people says it’s a scam. If you know something about that let me know please.
Thanks!!

If you are not going to take the ACT or SAT you are really limiting yourself and I’d go so far as to say you should probably not go to college then. Any school that will accept you without proper scores is likely not a very reputable college. That’s not to say they are a scam but if you want a good job and proper training then you really need to concentrate on schools that want proper scores. Your scores are not the only thing schools look for. But they are used to show that (1) you are serious about furthering your education and (2) they help the school place you in the class levels that are best for you. The want you to succeed. They are not just there to take your money. Look for smaller schools. They will provide you with individual attention and help to reach your goals. You’ve got a good list of achievements going. Keep it up and work on the grades. All I can show you are some schools in my state (Kentucky) that are inexpensive but will provide a good education. NKU has a great, but hard Nursing program. I know several people who went to EKU and WKU for interior design and psychology.

Pick a state that interests you then google about their state colleges and just look over the websites for more info. Good luck!

Interior Design Help Forum
I know it’s in the wrong forum, but please help…?

Since people in the art forum are simply there to exchange pictures of Japanese animes, I decided to ask this here.

How do I prepare for majoring in interior design? I’m looking forward to really good universities, so I need ‘credits’.

What are some qualified art courses to take?

Please, just tell me whatever you know or think….

Thanks in advance…
I’m an IB student and my schedule is full. I meant art courses outside high school. I live in Canada.

You need to take the required high school courses to enroll in college. 4 years of English, 3 years of higher math, 2 years of a foreign language… talk to your hig school counselor to be sure you take everything you need for the state you live in. Also be sure your ACT/SAT scores are high enough and your GPA is good.
Good luck.

Interior Design Apartments Furniture
Which furniture is best in quality in Abu dhabi ?

We are given 65,000 AED for the funiture allowance .Our apartment has 3 bedrooms and 1 maid’s room .Do u think the money is enough to buy furniture of good quality .My friends told me that Ikea is cheaper but quality is so bad .The advised me to buy from home center .We have special discount because of our companies deal with the following stores (ikea ,home center ,the one ,gemaco ,kinnarps ,id designs ,interiors ,shadows .Kindly recommend which one will be a better place to buy the best quality furniture with this money .

all of the companies you listed are good .. but here is my advice ..

IKEA is good and cheap .. but buy the small completing items like shelves or carpets or curtains for your kids .. dont buy beds or cabinets or sofas for example ..

Home Center is recommended .. slightly more expensive than ikea but get use of the discount offers .. quality of items in general ..

ID design and The One is un-reasonably expensive .. however .. they have some good small items if you want ..

but you can visit them or check their websites and see what suits you ..

good luck =)

HELP! Converting files???

I am an Interior Design student trying to send my portfolio to various firms to get an internship this summer. My portfolio is saved in powerpoint, and is too big to send as is. Most firms are requesting that I send it in PDF format – I have no idea how to g about doing this, but it is very important that I get my portfolio to them fast to better my chances of getting the job. Any suggestions? Thanks so much!

The top choice here is PDFCreator, an open source program from SourceForge that works by setting up a pseudo printer in your system. To create a PDF you just select the PDF “printer” and write to it. This means you can create PDFs from Word, Excel or indeed any program that allows you to print. A good second choice is CutePDF Writer a which is cut-down version of the commercial CutePDF product. It works in a similar way to PDFCreator and it’s free for both personal and commercial use. I suggest first trying the “CutePDF” writer, because it’s simpler and will probably do the job.
